Decentralized Identity is an identity model in which the individual controls the sharing of their own identity attributes and proofs.

Definition

Decentralized Identity is an identity model where users are not only represented by accounts held in centralized providers, but can directly manage and present verified proofs about themselves. Instead of systematically disclosing full identity documents to each service, the holder presents only the proof required for the access or service request.
