A security mechanism that allows immediate exceptional intervention on access rights during an incident.
Definition
Emergency override is the ability to bypass normal operational cycles in order to apply urgent protective decisions. In a Zero Trust IAM architecture, it is typically used by security operations to suspend identities, revoke access, or interrupt risky activity when compromise is suspected or confirmed.
