Out-of-Band Authentication is an authentication method where an additional factor is validated through a separate channel from the one used to access the service.
Definition
Out-of-Band Authentication uses a second communication channel or interaction path to validate identity, rather than keeping all factors in the same access channel. Its goal is to reduce the chance that one compromised channel alone is enough to complete authentication.
