Provisioning

SCIM Without Federation

SCIM Without Federation is an onboarding pattern where lifecycle automation exists but authentication remains on a less modern access model.

Definition

SCIM Without Federation refers to an integration path where identity lifecycle is automated through provisioning, but authentication is not aligned with the preferred federated access model. This can still improve account control compared with unmanaged accounts, but it usually remains behind a fully modern onboarding target.

The Ariovis perspective

Ariovis does not modernize an anti-pattern by adding another tool. The first step is to understand the process, ownership and operating weakness, then simplify the target before automating it.

These concepts matter most inside a real project.
