Identity governance
Recertification
Recertification is the periodic revalidation of identities, roles, accounts, or access rights by designated reviewers.
Definition
Recertification is a governance activity in which managers, owners, or security stakeholders are asked to confirm that access remains justified. Its purpose is to challenge obsolete or excessive access, optimize cost, reduce orphaned or residual rights, and maintain review evidence for internal control and audit.
The Ariovis perspective
A review campaign is useful only if owners, data quality, rights semantics and remediation are clear. The objective is not to send forms, but to make reliable decisions and act on them.
