Registration and Access Layer
The Registration and Access Layer is the CIAM capability set responsible for customer onboarding and sign-in experiences.
Definition
The Registration and Access Layer covers the parts of CIAM that allow customers to register, authenticate, and access digital services. It usually includes APIs, SDKs, federation patterns, and login experiences designed for usability, continuity, and security. It is the visible front door of CIAM from the end user's perspective.
The Ariovis perspective
CIAM must protect access without losing sight of registration, login and service experience. Ariovis links the customer journey to the underlying identity lifecycle and governance instead of treating the login screen in isolation.
