Social Login
Social Login is a registration and sign-in method that lets a user authenticate through an external consumer identity provider.
Definition
Social Login is a CIAM access pattern in which a customer uses an existing identity from a public platform or external identity provider to create an account or sign in. It is mainly used to reduce registration friction, accelerate first access, and simplify onboarding, while still allowing the service to collect and govern the identity data it needs for its own customer journey.
The Ariovis perspective
CIAM must protect access without losing sight of registration, login and service experience. Ariovis links the customer journey to the underlying identity lifecycle and governance instead of treating the login screen in isolation.
