A legacy IAM pattern is an identity, authentication, authorization, or privileged access design inherited from previous generations of information systems. It may remain functional, but it usually provides weaker contextual control, weaker traceability, lower agility, or higher operational risk than modern identity-driven and policy-driven approaches.
