Deprecated WebSSO
Deprecated WebSSO is a legacy single sign-on pattern based on proxy-style interception rather than modern federation standards.
Definition
Deprecated WebSSO refers to older web single sign-on approaches in which an intermediary component authenticates the user and injects session or header information into downstream applications. It can still exist in historical estates, but it is no longer considered the preferred strategic pattern compared with standards-based federation.
The Ariovis perspective
Ariovis does not modernize an anti-pattern by adding another tool. The first step is to understand the process, ownership and operating weakness, then simplify the target before automating it.
